Inspirational Social Removal

When one journey ends I always find another inspirational new experience begins, don't you?

Photo of a path in a forest, depicting the end of one journey and the beginning of another.

Due to circumstances beyond my control, and, in order to protect both my on, and offline identities, my LinkedIn Account will be permanently deleted on Friday 04 July 2025.

I would like to thank all my Family, Friends, Colleagues and On-Line Communities across all my Social Media Platforms for your continued support over the years, and wish you all the very best for your future.

Why I deleted all my Social Media Accounts

My short answer: I never want to put all my Eggs in one Basket.

My more detailed answer:

Because, Baldi, Amonn AL-Mahrouq values my independence and creativity, wants to create my own authentic independant Web Platform, allowing me have all my web coding, writing, proofreading skills and marketing in one unified place rather than rely on other companies algorithms.

I believe hosting everything on my own platform allows me to inspire myself by affirming my "Anything Is Possible" attitude, helping to breed trust and continuing to inspire my audience with access available to everyone, whilst reducing opportunities for hacking and damage to my reputation.

I don't appreciate distractions from my Life's Purpose, preferring to run life on my own rules and terms allowing me to create my own opportunities in our real world and find my community.

I value the freedom to build the website I want to see, not limited by someone else's features, or algorithms.

Uploading updates on my own schedule means I am able to better serve my community, preserve my emotional wellbeing as well as my Privacy, Security, and Data Sovereignty.

I don't want to be limited by constantly and forever changing goalposts, or Algorithms which may adversely affect my reach and engagement.

I don't want to limit my audience or be caught in an ever increasing "AI Content" generated loop, feeling that my scrolling time can be better spent turned into productivity time driving all my projects forwards.

I want my Inspirational Web Site to become my "Digital Home Base", voice of everything I do, and crucially my one and only Platform.

Personally, I love playing Card Games, however think that relying on Social Media is like relying on a pack of Cards. Just one thing could bring everything you've achieved crashing down. Why take that risk? Especially when you've worked so hard to build your following?

Not only does this step mark the beginning of an inspirational new journey in my quest to inspire as many people as possible, I also feel this move enables me to focus on keeping my, Baldi's, A.K.A Amonn AL-Mahrouq's Home on the web looking fresh, up to date, completing my forthcoming Books, writing more Inspirational Blog Beats and Short Stories, increasing my Piano, Figure Skating practice, allowing me to hold more inspirational live Performances, and Speeches, and finally using my Website Baldi's, A.K.A Amonn AL-Mahrouq's Home On The Web to its full potential as the one, and only source of motivation and connection for you all.

One Year On

Baldi's thoughts on removing Social Media One Year on.

In a nutshell, I went from Cacophony to Harmony, let me explain.

Having deleted all my Social Media Accounts except "WhatsApp" (it's how my community of students, work professionals and family communicate), "Gmail" and "YouTube" I immediately felt I was missing out.

Thankfully, as the days and months passed I began to immerse myself more and more, reading, editing my forthcoming Books, writing new chapters, blog posts, piano practice, figure skating, listening to inspirational music, walking in nature, concentrate more on expanding my website, not only brushing up on my coding skills, but progressing them to the Web Site you are reading, I realised posting and commenting on Social Media is rented land. Land I will never own. How could I build my voice on these platforms, knowing I will never have full control of own my work?

Hard - yes, set-backs - yes, time consuming - yes, as with learning anything new, however, I felt learning these new essential skills, building on my own land, knowing how to create things from scratch for myself not only would help take my mind off not posting and commenting on Social Media, but give me a challenge allowing me to create something I could call my own home on the Web, a website to be proud of, and one that will inspire for generations to come.

After I got my head round things, formed a plan, I began from the ground up, designing, creating and building my own home on the Web. As I did, I began to experience life differently. I immersed myself and became even more inspired by nature, met up more often with friends for coffee, took the time to smile, say "Good Morning" and chat with my fellow "Train Commuting Community" whilst on my way to Guildford, which I felt allowed me not only feel more alive and present, but to get to know my fellow travellers offline, as it were. Old School, some might say.

Conversing face to face more often with different people allowed me to think of new ideas, gave me time to think ahead, make plans and devise strategies to achieve my goals rather than spend time online with people I may never meet.

Was it worth it I hear you say? For me, yes, I do believe it was. Do I feel I am missing out? Now, no, not at all, initially though, yes I did, however, after a while, I had a light bulb moment and have never looked back. I have found my daily rhythm. A new door opened, pushed ever so slightly at first, then, once I felt comfortable with all my willpower, fully opened.
