For me, Sunday's will always be a "Family Day". A day when we all get together, catch up, enjoy inspiring company, and, of course, delicious food.
This past Sunday was no different! A short drive away is a favourite of ours, "Bombay Bay, Indian Bar, and, Fusion Restaurant".

Located in the heart of "Southsea Marina", "Bombay Bay" offers an inspiring selection of both outdoor, and indoor seating.

For me I love the contrast of the salty sea air playing a constant dance with the freshly ground Spices of India, coupled with the freshly brewed Coffee from the Cafe downstairs. A strange crossroads perhaps, however, one to savour for sure.
Browsing through their extensive Home Cooked menu composed of Traditional, and Fusion Food, there is an authentic Curry to suit everyone.

From Indian Classics, such as Tandoori Roti, to Chicken, or Lamb Korma, to Dhansak, to side dishes like, Spicy Bombay Potatoes, Poppadom's, Onion Salad Garnish, to freshly made Cheese Nann Bread, or Chilli Cheese Nann Bread, Vegetable Samosa, to "Bombay Bay's" signature Fusion Main Courses of "Lime Bahar", and, "Chicken Massaman", to desserts like Rich Chocolate Mousse, or Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream.

Any strength, any combo, no problem...You won't leave hungry! All good things come to those who wait, and in this case, it is well worth it as every dish is not only delicious, but lovingly prepared to order.
Inspiring food check, great company check. If you haven't visited yet, what are you waiting for!
If, like me, you have a big appetite and enjoy reasonably priced inspiring food with great Service and a lively atmosphere I can thoroughly recommend "Rapscallions", a Pirate themed Bar, and Restaurant located in the heart of Southsea, Hampshire, U.K appropriately decorated, serving a wide range of delicious, Grub and Grog for all occasions.

From a very different but truly inspiring interior, to an extensive and fun Pirate themed menu, ranging from Brunch to Light Bites, to a full Hearty Meal, to Happy Hour. "Rapscallions" Southsea, has something for everyone.

With Grub and Grog this good, perhaps one evening we will bump into each other. Until then, thanks for reading!
"Cassons" Restaurant Tangmere, near Chichester, West Sussex, serving high quality French Cuisine since 2003 with flair, and passion.

An unassuming, oldish style building, however, once you step inside, you are greeted with beautiful decorations, a homely interior and friendly service, well worth a visit!
One Tuesday Evening after an inspirational walk around Southsea and Portsmouth, "Our Great Waterfront City", my Cousin and I, found ourselves in the beating heart of Southsea, headed in the direction of "Kings Street Tavern", where our local grapevine suggested delicious food was on the menu.

Unfortunately, not having booked, we were turned away due to the entire Tavern being booked for Graduation Celebrations. Falling back on a favourite of ours, we headed on foot to "Elm Grove" and the popular "Huis", Belgian Bar, and Restaurant.

"Huis", in Flemish translates as "House" in English, which was apt, as the decor seemed to me like I was stepping into the front room of a "Home" rather than a formal Restaurant. Both different, and, inspirational, I thought.
Being seated promptly, we were greeted with an extensive "Home Cooked" Menu consisting mainly of "Traditional Belgian Cuisine" , along, with some classics.
Enjoying our "Belgian Beer", we eagerly awaited our selection of snacks.
A few minutes later our waiter brought a selection of Satay Meatballs, covered in Peanut Butter, Coconut and Red Curry Paste Sauce, topped with roasted peanuts for me and a portion of Moules Marinière Classic, cooked in garlic Butter and White Wine Sauce, garnished with Fresh Parsley for my Cousin.

In all, an excellent choice as we found their food to be both delicious and very moreish. Highly recommended by both of us.
The question you have all been waiting for. Would we return? Our answers. Yes, certainly! It's a massive thumbs up.
As you enter "The Chambers" of to one side you have a unique, very stylish set of chairs, and some smart groovy tables.

After visiting and enjoying our Xmas Lunch in 2025, we returned for both Sunday, and Week Day Lunches, I can honestly say their food is of a consistantly high quality and customer service / staff always pleasant.
Walking through their entrance, we were greeted not only by a Waiter, but an inspiring Christmas Tree, and a Sofa doubling as a Waiting Area, where we came across a Father Christmas decorated in his, or her traditional uniform.

Arriving at our table, my family and I, were presented with their Sunday menu where we all chose Traditional Festive food consisting of delicious Roast Chicken, and Cauliflower Cheese, followed by an equally yummy Apple and Cinnamon Pie for Dessert.

Would I, Baldi, A.K.A Amonn Al-Mahrouq recommend "The Chambers" for your family Lunch? Yes, most definitely. Why, I hear you ask? Because, we have enjoyed their delicious food, great service and inspiring decorations every time we visited.
In the beating heart of Southsea resides "The Marmion House" Restaurant, located on the site of "The Old Marmion Tea Stores" where my Family, Friend and I enjoyed a hearty, warm and delicious Sunday Lunch.

Can I recommend "The Marmion House" Restaurant? My, Baldi, A.K.A Amonn AL-Mahrouq's short answer is, Yes! Why? I hear you ask.
We all found the food to be great quality, served piping hot, their Waiter Service to be prompt and staff both courteous, and obliging, however, one minor drawback:
You must book in advance to avoid disappointment, especially when wanting to devour your Sunday Lunch here.

Bodrum Restaurant. Located in the heart of Southsea, Hampshire, United Kingdom, serving authentic Turkish cuisine, and drinks.

For our Meze, we ordered a Tomato and Chili based Dip accompanied by lovely Turkish Bread. Moving to our main course, we thoroughly enjoyed a simple, however delicious Chicken Dish, cooked in Lemon Juice over a Traditional Turkish Barbecue served with fresh salad.

Can I recommend Bodrum? In a word, yes! Without a doubt.
Located in the heart of Southsea Castle, Hampshire, United Kingdom, "The Courtyard Cafe" was established in April 2015 by an independent family seeking to offer an array of home cooked, locally sourced food and refreshment.
On our most recent visit, my Cousin thoroughly enjoyed their Chicken, Bacon and Avocado Salad, whilst I enjoyed their Southern Fried Chicken Burger, Onion Rings and Chips, finishing off with their delicious Chocolate Pudding.

Poppy enjoyed her Puppy Pit Stop. Having visited The Courtyard Cafe, Southsea multiple times over the past few years, for Lunch, Light Snacks and Hot Drinks, I feel confident in recommending it to you.
